“Island Tales” Wool Scarf Collection Wins Gold at the London Design Awards

“Island Tales” Wool Scarf Collection Wins Gold in Fashion Design at the London Design Awards! 🎉

The LDA recognises innovative concepts, while its Fashion Design category also highlights the cultural influence of design. For us, this award is an encouragement to the studio’s creative culture of learning. With every new brief, we continue to research, experiment, and translate knowledge across different fields, allowing it to gradually become nourishment for our creative practice.

At the heart of “Island Tales” are Taiwan’s natural landscapes, everyday social life, and historical memories. Taiwan is neither an extension of a single culture, nor can it be reduced to a fixed identity. It has long existed at the intersection of multiple cultures and communities. Through this collection, we deconstruct this complexity into a language of motifs, colours, and structures, translating it into a visual language.

Similar cultural conditions do not exist only in Taiwan. In a contemporary society shaped by rapid technological development and the fast flow of information, many places are also facing questions of how identity, memory, and culture can be preserved and carried forward. Through pattern design, “Island Tales” forms a dialogue that moves across cultural backgrounds, allowing stories rooted in place to resonate with others across the world, and to continue passing these experiences on to the next generation.

We will be showing this collection, along with brand-new works, at 2026 August Shoppe Object in New York City. We look forward to seeing you there!
