Legendary Calligraphy Artist Tong Yang-Tze Visits the Studio

👩🎨 It was a great honour to welcome acclaimed calligraphy artist Tong Yang-Tze to YEN TING CHO Studio.

In our previous collaboration on ‘Island Spirit’, Tong inscribed the characters “台灣” (Taiwan), which we later translated into a fine wool scarf design. The work became a prelude to our 2026 collection ‘Island Tales’.

Throughout the collaboration, we studied Tong’s practice closely, seeking to retain the rhythmic vitality of her calligraphy across different materials.

We are deeply grateful for Tong’s trust and insight, and for the opportunity to participate in extending the cultural lineage of Chinese calligraphy within a contemporary context, while carrying forward the spirit of island.

We look forward to other cross-disciplinary exchanges in the future. 🤝
